Annual Mike Ditka Charity Golf Tournament Hits Long for People With
Visual Impairments


Over 65 golfers came out to support Chicago Lighthouse North at The
Chicago Lighthouses 2
nd
Annual Mike Ditka Charity Golf Tournament.

The event, which took place at the prestigious North Shore Country Club in
Glenview, kicked off with a shot gun start at 12 PM, with lunch served on
the course and 18 holes of golf. Immediately following play was a
celebratory reception, silent auction and awards ceremony, in which
Lighthouse President and CEO, Dr. Janet Szlyk, extended her appreciation
to all of the golfers, tournament namesake Mike Ditka, host North Shore
Country Club, and Lighthouse board member Sandy Forsythe, who headed
the tournaments golf committee.

Other highlights from the event included celebrity golfers and NHL legends
Stan Mikita, Reggie Kerr, Cliff Koroll & Miracle on Ices Jack
OCallahan. The event received coverage from various media agencies
such as WGN, FOX News, The Glenview Lantern, and The Glenview
Journal & Topics newspapers.

All proceeds from the golf outing benefited programs and services for
people who are blind or visually impaired at The Chicago Lighthouse North
in Glenview.
