Reading End-of-the-Year Project

We have covered a lot of different areas this year in reading. To end the year, you may choose
your favorite subject or section to present on. You may work with a partner. The information
must be in your own words. YOU MAY NOT COPY DIRECTLY FROM THE BOOK.

You can choose any of these projects or create your own with teacher permission. Whatever
project you choose must include the following five (5) parts:
Title
Timeline
Spotlight
o Important person, event, or subject
Vocabulary
o Five (5) of the most important words, with your own definition or
example
Summary or Connection
o Think back to some of the inquiry questions or look at the questions
in the theme reader for your section. Summarize some of the main
points to that question
o Or, write about some text to text, text to self, or other connections
you can make to the text

Poster
Make a poster with three separate sections. Include
pictures, drawings, and information you type. Present
the information to the class.

Mobile
Use information you write or type and pictures to
display what you learned from the ceiling.

Diorama/Dioramas
Make a scene that shows important information
from your unit. You may make more than one to
show different parts of the unit. You must also write
a summary of the scene and a written part for
vocabulary, timeline, and spotlight

Poem/Song/Rap

Write your own poem, song or rap. Perform it for the
whole class or just the teachers. Include vocabulary, a
timeline, and spotlight (if not in the song) on a separate
piece of paper or small poster.

Other Project
Propose a project you would like to do and present it to the
teachers. Be creative and have fun!
