As I also mentioned, I’m the VP of the Board of Directors of the International Hotel (IHSHI) for Vice President and I’m volunteering my time to conduct this workshop, so 100% of the workshop fees will go to the MHF. The funds raised will go to support operating costs and various community programs offered by the MHF. I appreciate your willingness to help get the word out and to email the attached flyer to your network of colleagues, friends and family. The workshop is only $125 and is much less costly than other negotiation workshops. Many employers will reimburse their staff for taking such a workshop. More details about the negotiations workshop is contained in the attached two-page flyer. This workshop is a great way to support the MHF, the International Hotel (IHSHI) and learn some valuable new skills at the same time. Your help to get the word out would be greatly appreciated. Best, Tim *The International Hotel’s formal name is the International Hotel Senior Housing, Inc. (or IHSHI). The International Hotel (or I-Hotel) is a five story low-income senior housing development near S.F.’s Chinatown that was a product of a historic 30 year struggle by the Filipino-American and Chinese-American communities (and many others) to block the destruction and commercial development of the original I-Hotel, which was the last remaining building in an area once called Manilatown. The tenants, many elderly Filipino-Americans, were evicted from the original International Hotel in 1977. The I-Hotel was demolished in 1981 and the site lay dormant for over two decades as the result of the relentless efforts by the local community to prevent commercial use of the site. The new I-Hotel, with the help and support of the Filipino-American Community, the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Chinatown Community Development Center, was completed in 2005 and has 105 federally subsidized apartments for low-income seniors and houses the Manilatown Center on the ground floor. Timothy Dayonot, the negotiations workshop teacher, is the VP of the Board of Directors of IHSHI.

    Theworkshopwillcoveravarietyoftopics,includinghowtonegotiatebetterpricesforgoodsand
    services,resolvingconflicts,increasingbargainingpowerandhowtodefendagainstnegotiatingtricks
    andploys.WefeelveryfortunatetohavesomeoneofDayonotsskillandexperiencetoprovidethe
    workshopsaidCarolineCabading,VicePresidentoftheMHFBoardofDirectors.Cabadingexplained
    thatthe$125workshopfeeissubstantiallylowerthancomparablenegotiationsworkshopsandwas
