Course Description:
The Common Core Georgia Performance Standards Frameworks for Middle School
Mathematics grade 7 is organized into 6 units.
Unit 1: Operations with Rational Numbers
Unit 2: Expressions and Equations
Unit 3: Ratios and Proportional Relationships
Unit 4: Inferences
Unit 5: Geometry
Unit 6: Probability

Materials Needed:
You will need 1 plastic folder with brads, notebook paper, pencils, and erasers EVERY DAY.
Grading Policy:
Test Grades 60%
A cumulative test will be given each Friday (with a few exceptions).
Daily Grades 40%
Daily grades will include homework assignments, quizzes, classwork, and possibly other
sources.
o Homework assignments will be given often. All work on assignments must be
shown to receive full credit. No late work is accepted (unless due to being
absent).
o Quizzes will be given on occasion and will help to prepare you for tests.
o Warm-ups will be used as bell-ringers and must be completed and kept in you
warm-up folder.
o Classwork will be given throughout the units.

Attendance Policy:
All student absences will be determined either excused or unexcused. All class work and
tests missed during an absence must be made up in order to receive credit for those
assignments. Until work is completed, a zero will be recorded in PowerSchool. After an
absence, students are required to bring a note signed by a parent/guardian or a doctors
excuse explaining the reason for the absence. Excuse notes should be presented to your
homeroom teacher on the first day back to school.

Tardy Policy:
Students should not be tardy/late to school or class. The administration will handle tardiness
to school, and each teacher will handle tardiness to his/her class. Tardiness to class will result
in break detentions and possibly an office referral. Please use your time wisely!

Classroom Procedures:
1. Class begins when you enter the room. Be seated in your assigned seat and prepared
when the bell rings.
2. Be respectful of teachers, students, and school property.
3. Refrain from talking while the teacher is talking or when another student is asking a
question.
4. Class ends when the bell rings. Please do not pack your belongings or leave your seat
until instructed to do so.
5. There is no food, drinks, or gum in the room at any time.
6. All work must be done in pencil.
7. Please remain in your seat at all times, unless you have been given permission by the
teacher.
8. BRING ALL MATERIALS TO CLASS EVERYDAY!!

Discipline Procedures:
A violation of any classroom procedure will result in a disciplinary action:
