Hello, I have been doing research on studying in Germany, and would like to ask a few questions

for which I couldn't find an answer.

First, a little information about me. I will be heading to a U college at the end of this !ugust. I
have studied German in highschool for " years and my language skills are at a #$ level. I would
like to study in Germany because of financial reasons, and also because of the quality of
education there.
%y &lan is to go to Germany and first take some courses on the German language until the
'inter semester of ne(t year. 'ith this, I have two main o&tions. First, I could go straight to
Germany this e&tember and enroll in an intensive course to get me to the level I need to be at
by ne(t year. %y other o&tion is that I would go to Germany at the beginning of ne(t year, and
then try to get to the level I need to be at within that shortened time. )he only reason I would go
for the second o&tion is because it is more convenient to me, as it gives more time to &lan out my
studies.
%y main concern with it is this. *o they offer intensive German courses that would allow me to
get to the +$ level within that shortened time frame, -r should I definitely &lan to come to
Germany this e&tember,
!lso, are there any courses I could take which would e(cuse me from having to take the
*H.*!F language e(ams, I read that you could take a course at a studienkolleg, could you
e(&lain how that differs from a normal language course like one offered by the Goethe Institute,
and whether or not I could do a studienkolleg course within one semester,
!lso, as far as the language e(ams are concerned, do they absolutely have to be com&leted
before admission, 'hat if I were taking an intensive language course until, for e(am&le, !ugust
of ne(t year. I would be finishing this course after the deadline for most University a&&lications.
However, I would only be able to take the language e(am !fter finishing the course. 'ould it be
&ossible for me to a&&ly to the University and then take the language e(am within the first
semester of university, as long as I show that I'm currently in &re&aration to take the e(am,
I a&ologi/e for how many questions I have. I'm &assionate about studying in Germany but I feel
as if I'm being &ressured for time, and I'm in need of hel& to &lan everything out. )hank you for
taking the time to read these questions.
incerely,
aad
