We have been discussing parallel and perpendicular lines in class.

Today we are
going to create a piece of art using only parallel and perpendicular lines.

Remember:
Parallel lines: two lines that will never intersect
Perpendicular lines: two lines that intersect at a 90-degree angle.

This project will be done in the classroom and all the materials will be provided.

Bring to your desk
One canvas
A roll of painters tape
Two colors of paint of your choice
Two paint brushes
Protractor

What to do
1) You can start anywhere you want on the canvas! No two projects will look
identical to one another. Place one piece of painters tape diagonally across the
canvas.

2) Using your protractor create a perpendicular line to this current line.

3) Now create a parallel line for each piece of painters tape on your canvas.

4) Create parallel and perpendicular lines until the entire canvas is covered

5) Pick one color of paint. Color in every OTHER white piece that color.

6) Let paint dry.

7) Slowly remove painters tape

8) Using second color color in remaining white sections.
