Charles Dickens Fact Day

Fact:
Nabokov, Vladimir (1899-1977): Russian-born American
novelist, essayist, and professor of literature. In his course “Masters of
European Fiction” at Cornell University, Nabokov, at the suggestion of
Edmund Wilson, included Bleak House as one of the texts. His lecture
structure, themes, and style are included in his Lectures on Literature
(1980), edited by Fredson Bowers and published after Nabokov’s
death.

#1(Compound-Complex) After reading this fact, I couldn’t help

but to say “WOW!” out loud, because just the day before while reading
my marginalia by Vladimir Nabokov, I noticed a title of a book, “Bleak
House”, yet little did I know it is the ninth novel written by Dickens.
#2(Compound) Perhaps by accident, Vladimir Nabokov named Charles
Dickens a “Master of European Fiction”, when he included Mr. Dickens
in his teachings and writing yet never the less Mr. Nabokov showed
great admiration and respect for Charles Dickens through his actions.
#3(Simple) Taking this one step further, in Vladimir Nabokov’s book
Reading in Bed, he spent an entire four pages explaining the meaning
of a true reader and artist, he could fine no one better to define a true
writer and reader than Charles Dickens. #4(Complex) Moreover in the
eyes of Nabokov Vladimir, Charles Dickens should be more than the
literary father to a ninth grade English class, he believes that he should
a guidance to everyone in their lives, which is why he decided to
include Mr. Dickens in his writing and class. #5(Compound) In closing
Vladimir Nabokov truly knew what it takes to be a genuine artist in the
literary world, and Mr. Dickens displayed the skills and characteristics
of real writer in his life and masterpieces.
