REVIEW LORCA AND MORENTE

Many people think that music and poetry are not connected, but Enrique Morente and
Lorca are an example of how two persons are separated chronologically but connected
culturally. On April 11 I could go to a speech by Balbino Gutierrez about the
relationship between Enrique Morente and Garca Lorca. The short speech had two
parts clearly different.
First Balbino explained us why poems Lorca started to fascinate Enrique Morente. The
Morentes fascination for Lorca began after find a Lorcas book and sees the inside back
cover how he died. From that moment on Morente will sing a lot of Lorcas poems and
he will participate in many Lorcas tributes.
Then, Balbino provided us a long list of all poems that Morente sang. Among this
extensive list we find some Morentes album when there are a lot of poems of Lorca
such as Omega.
To sum up, in spite of the second part was a bit monotonous we could discover the great
admiration that Morente had for Lorca.
