Sargasso

Water dropped from a rusted brass faucet into an overflowing tub. The water
slowly dripped down the side of the tub. Calcium had deposited along each drops
path. The color of sea green stood in contrast to the white steel tub. A single
droplet held to the bottom of the tub before falling to the floor. The paint had
melted and peeled from the wall. The paint chips sat along the wall like fall leaves
in the still of October. Black mold crept along the ceiling, infecting the floor
above. A mist flowed over the window pane and through the broken glass. A
cracked mirror reflected the hollow room as the hanging door barely kissed its final
hinge. The room sat in silence as it waited for the drops to fall.

Inspired by Kathy Siricos Sargasso

When meeting someone of true beauty, you cannot help but be
taken aback. The beauty radiates like the sun, warming those nearby. I
cannot help but be inspired: inspired to write, inspired to paint,
inspired to draw, inspired to make art. It is those muses that I love, for
their simplicity is what eases my soul.

Arcadia

A taunting vision comes by night.
It fills your thoughts by day.
Youre caught inside its web of lies.
Yet you love it all the same.
