Study of the Modern Movements in Architecture For the study of emergence of the Modern movement and its impact on contemporary Indian Architecture it is expected to learn various isms in architecture, hence it is expected by the students to trace out them through readings from various books & official websites for the same. Following are some of the movements, which shall be worked upon while following a given frame for write up. Arts & Crafts Movement Beaux Arts Prairie Style Futurism Expressionism Modernism Constructivism Art Deco International Style Usonian Postmodernism Structural Expressionism Deconstructivism Frame for Write Up Time Period Region/s seen in Architects following them Famous architectural examples Preceding and Succeeding Movements if any Guidelines for Submission Weekly discussion will carried out at the end of every class. Assignment to be submitted in soft copy format first, on or before 1 st August 2014. A time line for isms to be created. One format in Microsoft Word is to be followed for all the compilations. Font that looks professional shall be used; Font Size for Body, Sub - Headings & Headings shall be 11, 12 & 14 respectively. 1 inch margin on all four sides and line spacing 1 shall be strictly adhered to. Name of assignment on header and batch details and college name with logo of college in the footer. Write up shall be in points or can be in paragraphs, but not exceeding 500 words limit. (1 ism on 1 page) Coloured Photographic evidences (in optimum size) to be composed in plates of A4 Size. A cover page with Assignment Title, Batch Details, Name and Address of College following appropriate fonts and font size Table of Contents mentioning topic, compilers names & page number. Table of Figures to be added. Bibliography and References to be mentioned compulsorily. Two final copies to be submitted in 2 stick files/ soft binding on 11 th August 2014.
