Ants Angle/Depth of Field: A photo that exhibits a low angle and
compositional techniques learned in class. You will be making several nal photographs for this assignment, two that show a low ants angle and two that show Depth of Field. Technique: 1. Sit or lie down on the ground for this assignment, look at different perspectives creating an interesting composition(s) to lead your viewer towards your main subject. 2. The two depth of eld images will be of the same subject. Your camera needs to be place on the ground outside. One shot needs to show a shallow depth of eld (f 2.8 or 4) the other shot needs a large depth of eld to be shot at f 16 or 22. Remember to adjust your shutter speed for the increase or decrease in light reaching the lm.
Tips: 1. Keep your compositions simple and uncluttered. 2. Make sure your main subject is clearly dened. 3. Use a combination of compositional techniques to create interest in your image. 4. A shallow depth of eld is created when you use f-stops of 2.8, 4, or even 5.6 5. A large depth of eld is created at f-stops of 16 or 22. These f-stops will help show off lines and create depth in the image. 6. Photography is all about the light. Pay particular attention to the lighting of your subject and where the shadows are.
