The Property Manager shows us all of the important information
we need to know when creating a Feature. All features in Solidworks
use the property manager to input or edit information.

End Condition

Editing
Our feature is added to the feature
tree.
Clicking on the plus sign next to the
feature will show the sketch (which
has been ghosted out) that was
used to create the feature.
We can either edit the Sketch to
alter the prole or edit the Feature
to alter the length of the extrusion.
Extrude Cut
Every Feature that adds material in Solidworks has a corresponding Feature that removes material.
Obviously there must be 3D Geometry in the model to remove and we also have to create a sketch before
we can use these features.
We rst sketched on the Default Reference planes (Front, Top, Right) but we can also sketch on planar
faces of existing Geometry.
The selected face (dark blue)
can be sketched upon.
