Overview:
--------
Lanic is a tool for voice communication between computers connected to a Local A
rea Network and its operation is comparable to a classic intercom.
The initiating computer can select the computer to which it wishes to make a con
nection in a list displaying all the currently connected machines on which Lanic
is running.
Though Lanic makes use of the TCP/IP protocol, it is not intended to be used as
an Internet Phone. Doing so may crash the local and/or the remote computer.
Usage:
-----
Unzip the file in a directory of your choice. To have the program start with Win
dows and have it running in the background, ready to receive and send voice mess
ages, a shortcut must be placed in the "Startup" program group.
To remove the software just delete the directory in which you have placed it and
remove the shortcut from the "Startup" program group. No files have been placed
outside the program's directory nor have any Registry settings been added or al
tered.
To initiate a conversation with another user logged in to the local network, sim
ply select the remote computer in the scroll down list and click the On/Off butt
on. Click the button again to end the connection.
