Emily La Course started dancing at the age of

three and her classical training at the age of six at Live


Oak Dance Center under the direction of Gladysue Hovis.
Emily has attended Ballet Austins Senior Summer
Intensive twice and Texas Ballet Theatres Senior
Summer Intensive, under the direction of Ben Stevenson,
once. She also continued her education by attending
multiple workshops with the Houston School of
Performing Arts and the Houston Jewish Community
Center- Arts Division. Emily and her fellow students at
Live Oak Dance Center were invited to perform with the
Galveston Ballet. She began an apprenticeship at Live
Oak Dance Center at the age of twelve and started teaching classes when she was sixteen; she
has also taught workshops as well as classes at Luce Conservatory of Fine Arts in Katy, Texas.
Emily has taught a wide variety of students from the age of three to eighteen in multiple forms of
dance, including ballet, jazz, and modern. Emily is a three year graduate of Columbus High
School in Columbus, Texas and is continuing her education at Blinn College in Brenham, Texas.
She is currently studying dance and will be auditioning for the University of Texas dance
department to work on a bachelors in dance and receive her teaching certificate. Emily wants
nothing more than to provide children the same education that she had received!
