BB Vesper & Table Grace

Table Grace
The BB also had a unique way of saying grace before we eat our meals together. This is our way of
thanking God for the food He has provided for us.
Lyrics:
Be present at our Table Lord
Be here and everywhere adored
These mercies bless and grant that we
May feast in fellowship with Thee
Amen!

BB Vesper
The BB Vesper is a prayer that we sing at the end of a BB gathering or function. Every BB Boy and
Officer is expected to know how to sing it.
Lyrics :
Great God who knowest all our needs
Bless thou our watch and guard our sleep
Forgive our sins of thoughts and deed
And in Thy peace Thy servants keep
We thank Thee for the day thats done
We trust Thee for the days to be
Thy love we learn in Christ Thy Son
O may we all His glory see!
Amen
There's an emblem fair that is known to all,
A sign to help us through, it stands for strength
and it stands for right, an Anchor tried and true.

The emblem of The Boys' Brigade, it helps us on our way,
our father's knew in days gone by this sign we know today
"Sure and Stedfast" The Brigade Boy's motto clear
That's our watch word when trouble and trials are near.

"Sure and Stedfast" to the flag that flies above
In all that we do we'll try to be true to the Anchor that we love.

THE ANCHOR SONG
Words and melody by G. Stanley Smith. Piano Arrangement by Marr Mackie

Verse 1:
There's an emblem fair that is known to all,
A sign to help us through,
It stands for strength and it stands for right,
An Anchor tried and true.
The emblem of The Boys' Brigade
It helps us on our way,
Our father's knew in days gone by
This sign we know to-day.

[CHORUS]

Verse 2:
With gallant heart and gallant soul,
On life's broad sea we'll sail,
What-e'er storms of life may bring,
Our Anchor must prevail,
Although the clouds may cross the sun,
And skies grow dark and grey,
We'll face the foe until we've won,
A glorious victory.

[CHORUS]

Chorus: "Sure and Stedfast"
The Brigade Boys' motto clear
That's our watch-word
when trouble and trials are near.
"Sure and Stedfast"
to the flag that flies above
In all that we do we'll try to be true
To the Anchor that we love
