Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that shares creative works by

other people. It works to share created work with other people legally. The people to

contribute to it are the public.

The word public means population. Which means anybody can share their part.

They work to support people to share their creations and talk to one another freely.

Anyone can contribute to copyright right works.

Mike Linksvayer, John Wilbanks and Ahrash Bissell are the main people that run

Creative Commons right now. The people that also control it is the Creative Commons

Board.

There are 3 types of licenses that are there. One of them is called Attribution,

which just means, the user must attribute the work of the original creator. Another one is

called No derivatives which means, the work can’t be changed. The last one is called

Non-commercial, which means the work can’t be use for any commercial reasons.

There are many people that have a problem with this. Some critics say that it

makes license problems even worse. Others say that the Attribution Share-a-Like is the

real copyleft license that is left.

If you do work on the internet, you can apply for a Common Creative license.

You apply by selecting the license that works with your preferences. As you applying it

to your work online, you follow the rules in the HTML code. Anyone can apply a CC

license for any type of work.

Common Creative licenses gives the author the ability to exercise their copyright

rights. If the author wants others to copy their work, they can the public do so. The

licenses are read in three formats. They are Legal code, metadata and the Common
Deeds. The Common Deeds is for common people, legal is for lawyers and metadata are

for machines such as computers.

The future of Creative Commons licenses has an important role in the free culture

movement. Many high school teens use more creative works online using the internet.
