during the fiscal year 2013-14 against the last financial year. There is 17.1 per cent record increase in exports from Sialkot region due to smooth provision of advanced export-related facilities and rapid clearance of export consignments by Model Collectorate of Customs Sialkot at the Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) and Sialkot International Airport. Exports of leather from MCC Sialkot has increased by 16.3 percent, sports goods by 7.1 percent, surgical instruments by 17.9 percent, textile by 28.8 percent, cutlery exports by 7.8 percent and other goods by 5.5 percent. SIALKOT DRY PORT TRUST has developed its own fleet of customs bonded vehicles (Transporter duly licensed (against a guaranty or surety) by customs to carry duty-unpaid goods.), which is the first largest Bonded Carrier in private sector comprising more than 100 vehicles providing quality services in terms of lesser transit time, safety and reliability.
SIALKOT DRY PORT TRUST has its own tractor & trolleys fleet for local haulage on lower rates. It is an advantage to the exporters and importers of the region that they can use cheap rate tractor and trolley services for dispatch of cargo containers to Dry Port premises. The importers of the region can also use this service to take their shipments from port to its factory.
