Topic: Basic use of the iPad
Time: 40 minutes
Introduction
Our PTA bought iPads for all the students in each classroom. Some of the students have never
used the iPads, so this lesson will give them the basic instructions on how to use it. I will first let
the students know that this is just a smaller computer and they will use the touch screen. They all
are familiar with the touch screen because the computers were changed over to the touch screen
versions, donated by Apple, through a grant process. (This is a Title One School)
I. Objective:
To learn to use the important features of an iPad.
II. Purpose:
The purpose of this lesson is to teach the students the beginning basics of iPad use.

iPad
Computer

Camtasia
White board
iPad basics on web with pictures
Jeopardy game (assessment)

IV. Assessment / Conclusion
The Jeopardy game will be used as an assessment the conclusion to this lesson.
The students learned so much more about the iPad by giving them time to play on it and
investigate other features. The assessment showed me that they were excited,
knowledgeable, and there was a 100% interaction with the students. They were begging
for more information every day.
