Mechanical Ventilator

Required for these reasons:

a. To control patients respirations during surgery or treatment of severe head injury
b. To oxygenate the blood when patients ventilator efforts are inadequate
c. To rest the respiratory muscles
Mechanical Ventilator may have a positive or negative pressure breathing device that can maintain
ventilation and oxygen delivery
