1. AllstaffmembersofHartland/LakesideSchoolsareresponsibleforthepreventionofstudentfailure.
2. Equitabledistributionofstudentsacrossalllearningoptions.
3. Allstudentshaveopportunitiesforflexiblelargegroup,smallgroup(heterogeneousandstrategybased)
and1:1learningopportunities.
4. Opportunitiestolearnwithandfromavarietyofpeers.
5. Understandorhelpcreategoalsandtargetsforlearningincludingstudentinterestandchoiceoflearning
activities.
6. Specialandgeneraleducators,coaches,learningassistants,ELLteachers,etc.arealignedtospecific
gradelevels(tobecomegradelevelteams)inordertoshareknowledgeandexpertisewitheachother
andtointentionallyincreaseeachotherscapacitytobetterservealllearners.
7. Gradelevelteamsofteacherscoplanandcoservethroughproactiveinstructionalpracticesforeachand
everylearnerwithintheirgradebasedteamsontheprinciplesofuniversalinstruction,curriculum,and
assessment.
8. UsingtheprinciplesofUniversalDesignforLearning,multiplewaysofrepresentation,multiplewaysof
engagement,multiplewaysofassessment,curriculumisdifferentiatedbasedontheneedsofall
learnersthefirsttimetheconceptistaught,versustaughttoanormedgroupofstudentsandthen
modifiedafterthefact.
9. Accessiblebuildings,outdoorareasandplaygrounds.
