Communication/Collaboration Tool

Skype is an appropriate communication tool because it can incorporate a group of

students in a forum. Using this tool can encourage texting and video calls too. If a student is not
well or is unable to be at school for whatever reason, that student can be a part of the class
through the use of video where he or she can view what is happening in the class during that
particular session.
The benefits of such tool are that: it encourages communication and collaboration among
students in the classroom. This is also encouraging students to not ust use skype for not ust
casual purposes but to reali!e that it can be used for educational purposes also. This enables
students to use a medium that is free. This can also be used as an aid in completing group
assignments instead of using cell phones that would re"uire the use of call credits. This can also
be of benefit to the teacher where a student who is absent from school on a particular day can be
a part of the learning process and prevents the teacher from having to re#teach a certain topic for
the benefit of that student.
