Storyboard Process

Step-by-Step
Before you begin, print out the Storyboard Mind Map (attached below)
Step 1: Problem:Explain one environmental PROBLEM that is hurting the apes habitat.
Step 2: Research: How can you help Mr. Ener-G solve this problem?
Step 3: Plan it out : Complete your Story Map Web
Step 4:Write it out
Use writing paper to write your story. Use your checklist to help you edit your work. When you conference with your
teacher, you will decide how to break your story up into chunks. Use your different color highlighters to help you
underline the different chunks to your story. Optional: To help organize your thoughts, you can write out each chunk
/part out on a separate index card.
Step 5: Draw it out
Count the number of chunks there are in your story. This number will be the amount of index cards you will need to
draw/sketch out your story.
Step 6: Gather and collect
Use your index cards to help you select pictures, images and songs you would like to include in your story. Your
index cards show what you visualized. Use your drawings as a compass to find the perfect match for your digital
storyboard. With the help of an adult, upload your collection into your electronic Storyboard Folder.
Step 7: Putting it all together
After your images are uploaded into your Storyboard Folder, you can now use Moviemaker to put it all together.
Step 8: Sharing is caring
Once you have completed your Digital Storyboard, share it with a classroom buddy.
Step 9: Listen and rethink
When you shared your Digital Storyboard with a classmate, what did they like most? What would they change?
What did they learn?
Step 10: Publish
If you want to make any changes to your Storyboard you can. Once you are happy with your Digital Storyboard, ask
your teacher to help you upload your final masterpiece onto YouTube to share with the world!
