What does it take to be an Indian?

Outcomes addressed:
Determine the complexity of identity for people in general, and for Aboriginal people in particular.
Analyze the effects of external labels on Aboriginal peoples.

Instructions:
Watch the video Identity found on R.O.V.E.R. found at http://rover.edonline.sk.ca/. The video starts by asking the question, What
does it take to be an Indian?, and four cultures are addressed (Blackfoot, Dene, Metis and Cree). Using information gathered from
each of the cultures, record what the individuals have to say about how they identify as part of their culture. Use the web below to
show your understanding. Following the video you will have a few minutes to share your responses with a partner or the people in
your group. Using a different color pen, record their responses. We will then share as a class. Complete the activity by answering
the personal response.
