Personal Injury Insider Issue No. 2 | August 6, 2014

1
Last Wednesday, July 30
th
, Schrom
and Shaffer attended a settlement
conference, representing the
plaintiffs, Tinuke Aine and Dr.
Ayodele Aina. After a long afternoon
in Robert Nix Federal Courthouse in
Center City, Philadelphia, an
agreement was reached. Tinuke Aina
and her husband, Dr. Ayodele Aina
would settle for 150,000 dollars from
the wrongs that Ms. Aina endured
while she was employed at Cheyney
University.
2
While working at Cheyney, Ms. Aina
worked for the on-campus medical
facility and went through a multitude
of hardships during her tenure. She
dealt with understaffing and sporadic
management with inadequate
facilities and supplies.
This settlement agreement came in a
timely manner for the Ainas because,
as of July 31
st
, Ms. Aina planned on
retiring from the medical profession.
After a long time of negotiations and
continuations, Ms. Aina and her
3
husband finally feel that this chapter
in their life can come to a close on
their terms.
Mr. Schrom and Mr. Botel were both
thoroughly involved with the Ainas
case. Their hard work, along with the
hard work of the entire staff, Schrom
& Shaffer were able to claim another
victory for those who have been
wronged.

Thoughts from Belle & Coda:
One of the most common places for a dog
accident to occur is at intersections when
walking your dog.
1. When walking your dog be sure that
he or she is not an inappropriate length
from you.
2. Be aware of you surroundings.
3. Slow down when approaching an
intersection and look in all directions for
another approaching dog.
4. If there is other dog, remain calm.
Dogs can sense when you are tense or
fearful.
5. Neutralize the situation by putting the
dog on the opposite side of your body,
away from the other dog.
