Summarize portions of text.
Engage in collaborative discussions about text.
Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when
writing or speaking.
Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation,
and spelling when writing.
Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading, or listening.
Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases
based on grade 4 reading and content, choosing flexibly from a range of strategies.
Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word
meanings.
Science:
Give examples of changes in an organisms environment that are beneficial to it and some
that are harmful.
Explain how animals meet their needs by using behavior in response to informal received

Explain the impact of people, events and developments on a community over time.
