Describing Close-ups and

Portraits
Method for Description
1. Sentence One is Summary
Sentences 2 to 4 describe the main subject. This
will require a good vocabulary. **

The main goal is to make sure you accurately
describe the photo in a quick and easy way.

** Note: Now Method One and Method 3 are
combined.

The Howling Wolf
This is a photograph of a wolf howling. The wolf
is in the center of the photograph She has white
fur. In the foreground and background there is
snow.
No Fighting Over Dinner!
This is a photograph of three wolves fighting over dinner.
Each wolf is showing his teeth. There appears to be a dead
animal in front of the middle wolf. There is snow on the
ground.
Wolves Running
This is a photograph of wolves running across
open land. Four of the wolves are black and the
fifth one is grey. The land has grass and rocks
but no trees.
The Alert and Hungry Fox
This is a close-up photograph of a fox licking his
nose. His ears are pointed like triangles. His eyes
are focused. His fur is red. In the background there
appears to be snow.

When you are not sure what something is, there are
many ways to say this in English:

It may be a dog.
It appears to be a dog.
It looks like a dog.
It could be a dog.
It might be a dog.
50/50 its a dog.
I am not 100% sure but I believe this is a dog.
Most likely its a dog.
