Reading Log

Your reading log will be kept in the JOURNAL section of your binder.
You may complete your reading log during any free time:
When you are done with your class work
During independent reading at the beginning of class
During study hall
During support class
At home

- You should fill out as much information as you can before you start reading the book.
- Your reading log should look like a Works Cite page or Bibliography - essentially a list of the books you
have read, one underneath the other. Skip a line between entries.
- DO NOT use the Reading Log pages for anything other than listing what you read.

Your reading log should be formatted as follows:

Last name of author, First name of author. Title. Year the book was published. Number of pages. Genre.
Date you started the book. Date you finished the book.

If you did not finish the book, explain why in a complete sentences underneath the reading log entry.

Example:

Bracken, Sam. My Orange Duffel Bag. 2010. 203 pages. Memoir.
June 27, 2014. July 10, 2014.

Chua, Amy. The Battle Hymn of a Tiger Mom. 2013. 237 pages. Memoir.
June 13, 2014.
I only read the first three chapters of the book. I tried to finish the book, but I knew on page 16 that I
was not going to enjoy this book. I did not enjoy the book because I felt the author was condescending.
In addition, I did not agree with the authors parenting style, and I thought everything she did for her
daughters was for herself, not her children.

Forman, Gayle. If I Stay. 2009. 234 pages. Fiction.
September 15, 2014. October 3, 2014.
