Dear Hiring Manager:

Last spring I had the opportunity to work with Genna Fanelli when she spent a few weeks
volunteering at Beech Brook as she was finishing her senior year at John Carroll. She was
recommended to me by a fellow staff member who was very impressed with her and felt she would
be an asset to our staff. And she was right on target with that!
Genna jumped right in and immediately got up to speed on what I asked her to do, which was
writing short but compelling stories about children in our residential treatment program. These
children, who have been terribly abused and neglected, create artwork for our agency fundraiser each
year, and the stories that accompany their art need to help donors understand more about our
mission and how we help these traumatized kids.
She immediately grasped what was needed, researched previous years stories, contacted multiple
therapists and wrote the stories quickly and skillfully. It was an enormous help to us and
contributed to the success of our event. During her time here, she also helped us research
information to help us with the updating of our website.
Although she was only here a short time, I have no doubt that Genna will be an asset to any
organization lucky enough to have her on their staff. She was poised, confident, competent, warm
and friendly, and truly professional beyond her years. I only wish we would have had a permanent
position that would have made good use of all her many talents.
I would recommend her without hesitation to any employer.
Sincerely,

Nancy J. Kortemeyer
Asst. Vice President
Marketing and Public Relations
