Dear Families,

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

I look forward to this new year of learning and working with your child. I invite you to attend
Back to School Night on September 3rd, 6:15-7:30 pm, to discuss routines, policies, and
procedures in detail. There are also several items that I would like to share with you before
then.

Your child will be using a STAR Binder this year (Students Taking Awesome
Responsibility) that will have your childs agenda, reading log, homework folder, Thursday
folder and much more. There will be an overview in their binder so that you know what
else is in it. The binder will come home every day and must come back to school every
day.

Students should report to the cafeteria upon arrival for the morning assembly that
starts at 7:40 a.m. Students will be considered tardy if they are not with their teacher
at 7:45 a.m.

We will have snack time around 9:15. You may send your child with a small, healthy snack
if you choose. Snacks should be easy to eat finger food and not require spoons.
Students will have no longer than 10 minutes for snack. Please do not send drinks for
snack time.

Our lunch time is from 12:08-12:38. The cost of a student lunch is $2.35, and a student
breakfast (from 7:05 - 7:35) is $1.25.

Dismissal is at 2:45 p.m. Your child will sit with their grade level. They will begin calling
for students and loading up cars at 2:45.

Please refer to the Parent-Student Handbook for questions or clarifications of Boone
expectations and procedures.

http://teamzecca.weebly.com/. I hope you sign up for Remind to help me communicate
important information via text. The directions to sign up are on the back of this letter. One
will be for information for my reading classes and the other for my homeroom class. Please sign
up for both! If your child has a phone with texting capabilities, they can also sign up! Open
communication between teacher and parent is so important for a childs success.
