Valdivia for everyone!

A city of history, nature and arts

Valdivia is full of interesting things to do. If your interests lie in history, the
first option is to visit the history museum, located in Isla Teja. In the situation that
you are not very fond of museums, the historical reenactments in Fuerte Niebla,
as well as the fort itself, will catch your interest. For nature enthusiasts there is
Parque Oncol. You can join the guided tours, practice canopy on the treetops, or
take a quiet walk on this ecological reserve. If you are inclined to arts, you can visit
the art museum, also located on Isla Teja, and the art galleries downtown, as well
as the occasional public cinema session on summer. On cinema there is also the
FIC, which stands for Festival Internacional de Cine, which is held on October
every year.
Where to stay? What to eat?
Due to the high number of tourists who visit the city, Valdivia is no short on
lodging options. You can stay on one of the numerous hostels scattered through
the city, which are affordable and friendly. In the case your budget allows it, you
can book a hotel room or even rent a flat for a weekend. As for food, the options
are numerous as well. Zona Cero, the Township Market (Mercado Municipal) and
Cerveceria Kunstmann are three of the most remarkable places
When the lights are down
To give closure to your day, Esmeralda Avenue, located just behind the
mall, has a wide array of pubs and discos. If you prefer a quiet environment, Caf
Moro usually stays open late into the night, keeping its quiet atmosphere until
closing.
