Sizing a Generator

For example, assuming 101kW is the electric load;

101kW / 075 = 135kW @ 0.8 pf = 168.5kVA
(0.8 power factor - pf - is typical for generators of this size.
You are probably looking at a 160kVA rated emergency generator warranted for 80% average load. And
you have to check your building's power factor, although I would estimate 85%.
