UNDERSTANDING MERIT/RANK NO.
The candidates can avail their merit/rank by logging to website www.jacpcldce.ac.in.
The merit/rank allotted consists of 7 digit No. the coding of this 7 digit no, is as follows
1. The first digit code is defined as follows.
1---Indicates Sponsored Candidates of Gujarat state
2---Indicates Sponsored candidate of Outside Gujarat state
3-- Indicates Non Sponsored candidates of Gujarat state
4- - Indicates Non Sponsored candidates of outside Gujarat state
2. The next two digits indicate the discipline for which the application is made by the
applicant. The coding for different disciplines is as follows
01 Civil Engineering
02 Mechanical Engineering
03 Electrical Engineering
04 Electronics & Communication
05 Instrumentation & Control
06 Chemical Engineering
07 Environment Engineering
08 Metallurgy
09 Textile Engineering
10 Computer Engg. & Information Technology
11 Biomedical Engineering
12 Mechatronics Engineering
14 Networking Communications & Web technology
3. The last four digits is the rank/merit of the candidate in the particular discipline. In the
last four digits, for GATE qualified candidate the rank/merit is allotted from 0001 to
1000 and for Non GATE candidate the rank/merit is allotted from 1001 to onwards in
the particular discipline in case of Non Sponsored candidates of Gujarat and outside
Gujarat.
4. However, in case of Sponsored candidates, the last 4 digits are allotted as per priority
available on committees website with no bifurcation of GATE and Non GATE as
specified in point 3.
5. Thus for example if the merit no. 3010001, this candidate is GATE qualified Non
Sponsored category of Gujarat of Civil Engg. Discipline with merit/rank as 01.
6. Another Example, 4031002, this candidate is Non sponsored category of outside
Gujarat of Electrical Engg discipline with Non GATE merit of 1002.
7. One more example, 1060001, this candidate is sponsored candidate of Gujarat of
Chemical Engg discipline with merit/rank of 01
8. On these lines merit/rank can be ascertained by the candidate.
