2. Signal Space Concepts geometric notions (notes)
3. Modulation Techniques (chapter 3), including bandlimited channels,
multicarrier and spread spectrum (chapters 11 and 12 in part)
4. Optimum Receivers (chapter 4)
5. Information Theory, capacity of channels (chapter 6)
6. Receivers for bandlimited channels (chapters 9, and 10 if time permits)
7. Coding Theory basics

Evaluation Scheme:

Note:
1. All exams are open text-book. Photocopies of book or book chapters
will not be allowed. No other book may be used. Notes may not be
used. However, slides provided by me may be used.
2. Re-minors/Re-major will be held as per standard procedure provided I
am informed on the day of the exam (use email).
3. Assignments will normally consist of selected problems from the book
itself. They should be submitted on the due date. However, they will not
be evaluated like minors/majors. You are expected to try as many
problems as you can its perfectly fine if you are unable to solve some
problems. Solutions will be provided after the due date for submission
of assignment.
4. Grading will be purely relative.
