Respiratory Super Infections.


Contraindications:
Hypersensitivetocephalosporins, penicillins
andrelatedantibiotics.

Nursing Responsibilitites:
Assess patients
previoussensitivityreactionto penicillin orothercephalosphorins.


Assess patient forsigns andsymptoms of infection
beforeandduring thetreatment


Obtain C&S beforebeginning drugtherapy
toidentifyif correcttreatmenthas beeninitiated.


Report signs suchas petechiae,ecchymotic areas,epistaxis or
otherforms of unexplainedbleeding.


Monitorhematologic,electrolytes, renaland hepaticfunction.


Assess for possiblesupper infection: itching fever,
