Iefore installing! ma(e sure the following prere'uisites are metA

Microsoft %nternet %nformation 8ervices (%%8) is installed and running.
<ava Runtime Gnvironment -H;H,H> or newer is installed
Ieginning with version +.6., HPMPA%nstall.e#e is used to install HP MPA. Dou)le/clic( HPMPA%nstall.e#e
to )egin the installation process.
During installation! the HP MPA installer will perform the following actionsA
-. 8earch for %nternet %nformation 8erver (%%8) and display an error if it is not installed and running.
+. 8earch for $AJinetpu) and copy all necessary files to this directory.
9. $reate an HP MPA data)ase for containing all user and policy data in the
inetpu)JHPmanagedprintadminJdata)ase folder.

Upgrading %P MPA &rom an earlier version
Prior to upgrading to a newer version of HP MPA! complete the following stepsA
$hec( the %ssues and 3or(arounds section of this document for potential upgrade/related issues.
Iac(up the HP MPA data)ase. Irowse to the $AJinetpu)JHPmanagedprintadminJdata)ase folder
and copy the data)ase file to a safe location.
ninstall the earlier version of HP MPA using Add:Remove programs in the 3indows $ontrol
Panel. NoteA 1he HP MPA data)ase is not uninstalled and will )e upgraded for use with the new
version of HP MPA.
Re)oot 3indows prior to installing the new version of HP MPA.

Deleting the HP MPA software does not remove the HPMPA data)ase. All e#isting user group! policy and
printer list settings from the earlier version of HP MPA will )e availa)le in the new version of HP MPA.
Always chec( the Dnown %ssues section of this document prior to upgrading.
HP recommends ma(ing periodic )ac(ups of the HP MPA data)ase. $onsult the HP PD 8ystem

No! dynamic mode of the HP PD driver is not supported in the $itri# multi/user environment due to the
