School Wide Grading Policy


Maintaining accurate records for full effectiveness through Google Docs and portfolios: Domain 4b
Teachers are expected to update students progress via Google docs (online grade book)
Teacher should add students on their rosters as soon as they are received. Grades should be updated bi-weekly. The grades
in Google Docs should be accurate records of students work.
Report cards and progress reports should be consistent with Google Docs. The passing grade of a course is 65%.
Progress Report Policy, Domain 4
Teachers should make an effort to keep parents updated on students academic progress throughout the year. Report cards
will be sent at the end of each marking period and progress reports will be sent mid semester.

The effort and work quality grades should be
assigned based on whether or not the student is
working to his/ her individual potential.

Portfolios
The primary purpose of a portfolio is to document student learning on specific curriculum outcomes
throughout the year. The items in the portfolio must be chosen to demonstrate the knowledge and
skills specified in the outcomes for each unit. Each teacher is responsible for keeping an up to date
portfolio for each student.
Portfolios should include:
Baseline assessments and midline assessments
For every unit:
1 exam
1 piece of classwork
1 project/ essay
All work in the portfolio must be graded.
All classwork must include a comment and a grade based on rubric (which should be attached)
