Sixth Grade Reading Behavior Expectations

BEAHVIOR EXPECTATION:
I will be respectful of myself and others in class and at Somerset
Academy Losee by

o following all Somerset school rules
o keeping my hands and feet to myself (no pushing, poking, hitting, kicking, etc.)
o working quietly and independently when asked to
o not arguing with teachers (no back talk)
o using appropriate language or gestures (no name-calling, swearing, etc.)
o being kind (no gossiping, making fun, teasing, etc.)
o not taking things that do not belong to me (no stealing or hiding things)
o sharing and taking turns
o keeping our campus and classroom clean (not littering or throwing trash around)
o making people feel comfortable (no jokes, stories, or comments that make others
uncomfortable)
o being aware of another persons right to learn, think, and question (do not interrupt
instruction or talk over others)

I will be reasonable by

o reacting appropriately when someone bothers me by removing myself and getting
help from a teacher (not retaliating or getting back at the person)
o using self-control
o being flexible, willing to compromise, and make peace (be a peacemaker)

I will be responsible by

o listening carefully and asking appropriate questions
o contributing positively to class
o raising my hand and waiting to be called on
o coming to school on time, dressed appropriately, prepared with materials and
homework, and ready to learn
