Advantages of Copper 12/12/2012 6:07:00 PM

Copper is a good conductor of electricity

It is available at low cost & easy to be mass produced

Copper is second in its conductive properties only to silver, a metal that
would be much more expensive in large amounts

Recycles easy- most all copper products can be recycled by re-melting

ADSL is a technology that can send much more data through the use of an
ordinary copper wire including voice, video and computer data to the person
on the receiving end and sending data back to the telephone company at the
same time

Because the copper wire is such an efficient way of sending a signal,
technology has shaped itself around sending advanced signals through the
already existing wires rather than making new conduits

Its lightweight, flexible and can be used over extremely long distances with
high efficiency

High resistance to heat, can handle a wider load of electrical power, uses
less insulation and armoring. Resistant to corrosion. Even when exposed to
oxidation the material will not lose functionality
