Infraredastronomy
Infraredastronomyisfoundedonthedetectionandanalysisof

infraredspectrumisusefulforstudyingobjectsthataretoocold
toradiatevisiblelight,suchasplanets,circumstellardisksor
nebulaewhoselightisblockedbydust.Longerinfrared
wavelengthscanpenetratecloudsofdustthatblockvisiblelight,
allowingtheobservationofyoungstarsinmolecularcloudsand
thecoresofgalaxies.ObservationsfromtheWidefieldInfrared
SurveyExplorer(WISE)havebeenparticularlyeffectiveat
unveilingnumerousGalacticprotostarsandtheirhoststarclusters.
