This lesson is geared for the end of a dance unit or for the beginning of the semester/year to work on teamwork and peer interaction. Students choose a group to work with no more than ! students in a group. "f your class is smaller than drop the ma#imum number down. Task- Each group must create their own unique repetitive dance. Each member of the group must contribute a move to the dance. They can not use the same moves as dances done in class, and should show various levels of difficulty. I choose two-three song choices for the students to decide. They must be on beat with the music and be in sync with each other. The dance should be at least 6 moves repeated. " gi$e my students four days to work on their dance %& day with no music this way they learn to counts and not 'ust to the music( and then they perform their dance for a grade on the ) th day. Grading- I grade the students on teamwork, difficulty of moves, synchroniation, creativity and effort. I also have one group peer evaluate another group on their creativity, synchroniation and effort. I leave space for comment as well. " $ideotape the students* dances on my ipad and then allow the students to $iew their dance when they recei$e their grade the ne#t class period. Let the students know they can ha$e fun with it dress up if they choose to for their performance.
