12AP Participation Rubric

Each quarter, students will earn a participation grade worth 50 points.

An active member of the classroom community will:

*express thoughts and opinions

*be attentive during discussions

*come to class prepared

*contribute to group work

*give his/her best effort to strive for
understanding during discussions

*search for a balance in discussionspeak
up and step back


*ask thoughtful questions

*take notes

*offer meaningful responses to
questions/stay on topic

*share his/her writing

*not sleep/do other homework

*use technology in an appropriate manner

A student earning this score does an excellent job of demonstrating
