Quotes:

1. Students want teachers to know their strengths and acknowledge their expertise,
but they rarely get a chance to make them known. (pg. 2)
2. In the High School classroom, respect and trust travel a two-way street between
teacher and student- and have everything to do with learning (pg. 17)
3. Part of a teachers job is giving teenagers the practice at that independence
actually giving them more ability to try things out for themselves (pg. 31)

Questions:

1. Do teachers who coach or sponsor clubs show more favoritism to students
involved in those activities?
2. What level of independence do we give our students?

3. Do we as teachers have to like every student?, or do we have to put on the faade
for the ones we dont like?

Points of Interest:

1. Getting to know the students, their interests, and a little about their background

2. Connecting Content in a way that connects with students.

3. Walking the fine line of student popularity/ respect.

4.Treat students equally, and fairly.

5. The student teacher trust/ respect aspect very important.
