Enkidu and Gilgamesh lived together in the city as brothers, but Gilgamesh was t

ormented by his own great potential and longed to do something that would be rem
embered. Enil, father of the gods, had given Gilgamesh gthe power to bind and to
loose, to be the darkness and the light of mankind.h Enkidu complained to Gilgame
sh that his own arms had grown weak, and that he was goppressed by idleness.h To f
ulfill their destinies, they knew they had to leave the comfort of the city and
suffer and fight evil together.
