Context
Form C is a classroom
with students that span
from year 4 to year 6.

Student ages range from
9 years to 12 years, with
varying degrees of social
and emotional maturity.

In addition to a large
scope of ages and
grades, Form C has a
vast range of ability.

Environmental Print
Due to the range of abilities there are
many different types of environmental
print around the classroom.

Handwriting
Even my upper students tend to have
difficulty in making their written work
understood. Having environmental print
modelling Victorian Modern Cursive along
with specific handwriting classes is
assisting the students to show more
pride in their work.

Plan, draft and publish imaginative, informative and persuasive print and multimodal texts,
choosing text structures, language features, images and sound appropriate to purpose and
audience (ACELY1704) Year 5
I realised that I didnt have a lot of focus on any multimodal learning activities.
I made the decision to work with music videos as they are engaging to the students
and easier to use the metalanguage due to the level of engagement.
Music Videos
We have started with listening to songs and trying
to find the story or characters in the music and
the lyrics.

We have also started drawing and writing the
characters and plots in preparation of creating
storyboards to make our own video clips.

Music Videos
Students are now working towards recognising themes
in music and finding photos and clip art that can
represent them.

We will be storyboarding our whole class video this
week with a plan to publish early next week.

If all goes to plan, we should be working on our small
group / individual videos by the end of next week
with the hope of having final products by the end of term.

Some challenges I expect to face are:
-difficulty in transferring knowledge and understanding
to an independent learning experience
-difficulty in using the software required
