Easter

When you paint Easter eggs is a habit that we gather ourselves together as a family. We must work together to be easier and faster, and when were working we talk about the event
which gives us occasion for this celebration.
Easter in Romania is closely related to the faith. We do not eat eggs, meat or anything that comes from an animal for several couple weeks before the holiday to prepare ourselves for
forgiveness of sins.
A few days before Easter we make cakes called cozonaci , a kind of bread with cheese and eggs called "pasca " and the last thing we have to do is to paint the eggs.

To paint eggs isnt simple. The white egg is covered with a wax model with a thin brass tube which is having inside a hair of pig.

The wax protects the egg from the yellow paint that will be applied and then the wax model will continue then we sink the egg in red paint and the last bath of paint is black.

Eggs painted with onion peels and decorated
with leafs

You can paint the eggs with more natural patterns using a leaf covering it while the egg is painted and after that it remains the leaf form as it removed from the egg.
Some tips if you want to you to do this.
Making paint: a tablespoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of vinegar to 2.5 liters of water, but also sheets onion.
Place eggs in paint and leave for 10-15 minutes after water begins to boil. Then let the eggs in water for 5 minutes after turning off the fire.
Then remove the eggs and after they dry erase them with a sponge and a little oil to make them shiny. If you want to make them with lef forms you have to introduce the egg in a sock
tights with a leaf. Good Luck!

Knocking eggs is a primordial sacrifice decorated by red painting, symbol of the sacrifice of Jesus. Knocking eggs is allowed to believers after the Resurrection of the Saviour on
Easter night of Christ ascension into heaven. Eggs, painted on Thursday are knocking by some rules on Easter. The egg has three parts: the top - which is called the head, the other
side - bottom. On the first day of Easter we are knocking head head only, the day after we can knock head upside down . As a general rule, the first knock is made by the elderly man
at the table. The older person knock the head egg partner kept saying the famous words "Christ is risen!", while he will respond with the words "He is truly risen!."
