Part A.

1. How many human rights are guaranteed, according to the

document? Thirty human rights are guaranteed.
2. According to the Universal Declaration, how should respect for
human rights be promoted? Every person and organ of society must
promote the human rights by educating and teaching by progressive
measures to keep universal recognition and observance.
3. Which two articles of the Declaration do you think are the most
important? Give reasons for your answer.
Article 1- All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed
with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. I believe
this is important because it states that from the time a person is born, they are all free to the same
rights as somebody else, which is a big deal in every citizens life.
Article 18- Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right
includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with
others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and
observance. This is a very important article because it states that everyone is allowed to believe the
things that they want, which is a tremendous amount of freedom for society. People get to live
peacefully with their differences, which makes it an important article.

4. Should a nations record on human rights be the major factor in
determining the United States relationship with that
nation? Explain your answer.
I believe that it should be a factor in the relationship the United
States has with that nation. This is because the United States
works and believes truly in everyone have their own freedom. If we
do not believe in something that the other nation is doing, it
shouldnt be right that we have a good relationship and ignore what
theyre doing, we should try to make it right or no longer
communicate with that country/nation.
