Situation:

Customer wants to upgrade his SAP ERP system to SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4.
The system e.g. X54 is defined in SAP Solution Manager system landscape as an
SAP ECC system.
So the system is not supported in maintenance optimizer (MOPZ).
Problem:
To install SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4, MOPZ has to calculate an XML file for the
Enhancement Package Installer.
In SMSY the system X54 is wrong defined. Instead of an SAP ERP it is assigned to
SAP ECC.
Requirements:
SAP Solution Manager is on ST-400 SP15 or higher.
The maintenance optimizer is configured. Especially the BC-Set which activates the
XML generation is activated.
In SP 15-SP17 this BC-Set will be activated when you run the auto-configuration.
Execute IMG activity Configuration of Extended Functions
In SP18 the activation will be done in Simplify Setup ->Basic Configuration ->step 7
(Automatic Configuration) ->Activate BC-Sets
Solution:
Short term solution: define the system additionally as an SAP ERP system.
Long term solution: a report migrate all SAP ECC objects to SAP ERP
The step by step description explains the short term solution.
Below you find the description for the short term solution:
1. Call transaction SMSY
2. Select your system e.g. X54
3. Select onHeader Data tab the buttonInstalled Product Version
4. Add Product Version SAP ERP 6.0
5. Select Copy
6. Now both products are available in the list Installed Product Versions
7. Save your changes and close the popup
8. Go to switch System Group and Logical Components
9. Select Logical Components ->SAP ERP
10. Create a new logical component
11. Right mouse click on SAP-ERP->SAP ECC Server ->Create New Logical
Components
12. Enter a logical component key (customer namespace) and a description
13. Confirm the entries
14. Select the system to the logical component (in the fitting system role)
15. Assign it to the logical component
16. Save your changes.
17. Assign the logical component to a solution.
!! It is NOT possible to assign this logical component to a solution in which the
same system is assigned as an SAP ECC!! In this case you have to select
another solution or create a new one.
18. Call transaction DSWP, go to the entry screen and select Create if necessary.
19. Enter a solution description and select Continue
20. Select System Landscape Maintenance
21. Switch to change mode and press the value help for logical components
22. Select the new created logical component and save your settings
23. Now you have assigned a system which was only known as an SAP ECC to a
solution as an SAP ERP.
Now it should be able to run a MOPZ transaction to generate the required
XML file
