SOAP MAKING QUESTIONNAIRE

1. What are the general ingredients you used in making your own hand soap?
Answer:
For group 4, in making our hand soap, we used Virgin Coconut oil, NaOh and to be able
for it to have a good scent, we used Daffodil essential oil.

2. Describe the stage called trace stage.
Answer:
Trace stage is the so-called "point of no return" in soap making. It is the point where the
oils in your soap have successfully mixed with the solution. This is also the point where
your oils and your sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also known as lye turn into soap.

3. How can you achieve a smooth texture in your soap?
Answer:
To be able to achieve a smooth texture in your soap, you have to follow the procedures
properly and correctly.

4. What chemical reagent did you used to speed up the curing process?
Answer:
The chemical reagent we used to speed up the curing process in our soap is the sodium
hydroxide (NaOH), also known as lye.

5. Which part of the procedure you think is critical considering for the best result?
Answer:
The critical part of the procedure considering for the best result was the mixing of the
Virgin Coconut oil and sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also known as lye.
