The Blessed Saliva

of the Prophet r
Regarding the saliva of ordinary people like you and I, it is mentioned that if
one spits anywhere or on anything, then it is unhygienic and carries germs and h
armful bacteria that causes illnesses. It is for this reason that one may even s
ee a sign which says Do not spit hear. It is unhealthy. However the Luaab-e-Dahan (
Holy Saliva) of the Holy Prophet r is not unclean or does not cause illness but
it is the cure to illnesses. Through it, severe illnesses are completely cured j
ust as it has been mentioned in distinguished kitaabs.
Hazrat Sahl bin Sa ad t states that on the day of Khaibar the Holy Prophet r sai
d, Tomorrow I shall give the flag in the hand of such a person in whose hand Almi
ghty Allaah will give success and victory and he loves Almighty Allaah and His Pro
phet r. The following morning all the Sahaba (alaihimur ridwaan) presented presen
ted them selves in the Holy Court of the Holy Prophet r and each one wished that
the flag would be given to him but the Holy Prophet r said,
Where is Ali ibn Abi Talib t?
The Sahaba-e-Kiraam said,
His eyes are hurting (had an eye infection)
The Prophet r said,
Ask for someone to call him Someone was sent to call Hazrat Ali t. When he arrived
, the Holy Prophet r put his blessed saliva into his eyes and Hazrat Ali t becam
e well and he felt as if there never was any pain (in his eyes). [Mishkaat Share

Sahabi-e-Rasool Hazrat Aqeeli bin Habeeb t says that his fathers both eyes becam
e completely white and he could not see at all,
Then the Holy Prophet Muhammad r placed his blessed saliva into both his eyes and
he began to see and I have seen that even at the age of eighty he used to threa

It has been quoted by Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Haq Muhadith Dehlwi t, then by Hazrat
Allama Qistalaani Shareh Bukhari in his book Mawahibul Laduniyah and Allama Yusu
f Nibhaani t in his book Anwaarul Muhammadiya that:
Once the Prophet r gargled into a well, due to which the entire well became frag

The water from the well at the house of the distinguished Sahabi-e-Rasool Hazrat
Anas t was very bitter.
The Holy Prophet r put his saliva into the well at the house of Hazrat Anas t. T
he water became so sweet that there was no water in the entire Madinah Munawwara

When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique t was bitten by the snake in the Cave of Thawr,

Then the Holy Prophet r applied his blessed saliva on the snake bite and the dis
comfort which he (Abu Bakr) felt began to subside. [Tafseer Roohul Bayaan Pg.433

Hazrat Bishr bin Aqraba t says, My father was made Shaheed during Ghazwa-e-Uhud a
nd I went to the court of the Prophet r crying. The Prophet r said, Why are you c
rying? Do you not like that I may become your father and Hazrat Fathima Zahra (r

adi Allaahu anha) becomes your mother. The Holy Prophet r then ran his blessed han
ds over my head. The area on which his hand passed over always remained black an
d the rest turned white.
He further says,
I used to stammer when I spoke. He r placed his blessed saliva (in my mouth) and
