13. The Lord told Ananias that Paul would find out how much he must suffer for *Jesus+ name
(Acts 9:16). Likewise, in Acts 14:22 Paul states, *Believers+ must go through many hardships
before entering the Kingdom of God. The book of 1 Peter was written to encourage believers,
who were suffering ostracism because of their faith, to endure that suffering with patience if
they are suffering for doing what is right, knowing that God will exalt them in due time.
Suffering for the Lord seems to be a foreign concept in our American culture today. How can we
better prepare ourselves for the trials that may lie ahead?
